The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly held its second ordinary meeting of the fourth session at the Assembly Hall. Present at the meeting were, the Municipal Chief Executive, Municipal Coordinating Director, Chiefs, Presiding Member, Assembly Men and Women and Heads of Department of the New Juaben North Municipal Assembly.
In the welcome address, Hon. Presiding Member for New Juaben North Municipal Assembly, Dr. Edward Asante Antwi, called on all to come out with ideas that would accelerate the development of the Assembly and municipality.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Comfort Asante, addressed the session meeting of the Assembly on finance, and said the Assembly has been progressively increasing its revenue and said with certitude that, contrary to the information passed on about GRA taking charge of property rate collection, the assembly’s revenue collection team will continue to take charge of the task.
Hon. Comfort Asante, in her address on health said, the construction of the Regional hospital and the Municipal Poly clinic under agenda 111 by the government is on-going.
In terms of security, she stated that the municipality is relatively peaceful, however, there were two hundred and eighty-three crime cases reported from April 2023 to June 2023 in our Municipality. Therefore, asking all the citizens to be security conscious in their various neighborhoods, homes, work spaces etc.
Hon. Comfort Asante speaking on education, said since education is essential aspect of human development, the Assembly through the Education Directorate organized capacity training development for all category of staffs in the Education sector in our Municipality on an English teaching workshop, training on oral health and guidance and counselling.
The assembly as part of the planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) Project, has distributed a total of 14,232 oil palm seedlings and 4000 coconut seedlings, received by the Agriculture department through the Mineral commission to farmers in the municipality.
She also declared that, the assembly in collaboration with Ghana Enterprise Agency organized a Youstart training programme for 35 youth in the municipality to help start up the youth and gear them towards entrepreneurship.
