A sod cutting ceremony has been performed and officially launched the commencement of construction of a four unit classroom block with a recreational hall for Effiduase Presbyterian Basic School to enhance education and abolish the shift system.
The project, which is expected to be completed within three months will be completed by September 2019, was officially handed over to Otado Construction Limited.
The Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben North Assembly, Madam Comfort Asante, in her address thanked the school Administration, the Presbyterian Church, the Member of Parliament and the Assemblyman for their support. The MCE was pleased with the effort of the Presbyterian Church and assured the school of her close monitoring of the project to be completed within the stipulated time.
The Reverend Minister E.A Asiedu thanked the MCE and her entire outfit for their tremendous support to Presbyterian Church. The Reverend Minister reviewed conceived plan of the church to build new basic school at Akwadum, pleading for the Assembly’s support when the project begins.
The headmaster of the school stated, there were numerous problems confronting the school which included the shift system, lack of teaching staff and motivation for teachers, but with the intervention of the Assembly and the Member of Parliament, the school now have the ‘B’ block and the other problems also solved.
The Assemblyman for the electoral area, Hon. Oti Akenteng Ernest thanked the Assembly and the Church for spearheading projects that will bring development to the area.
