The Member of Parliament for the New Juaben north Municipal Assembly, Hon. Nana Adjei Boateng, together with the Social Investment Fund has commissioned a new classroom block and staff common room for the Akwadum Methodist basic school in the Municipality.
Addressing the enthusiastic beneficiary community and the school prior to the commissioning, The Member of Parliament, who also doubles as the Deputy local Government and Rural Development Minister, Nana Adjei Boateng ,reiterated that the school facility was part of efforts by the Nana Akuffo Addo led Government to eradicate school under trees.
The Hon. Minister stressed that, the Nana Akuffo Addo led administration is the first government who has spent much money in projecting education in the country. He called on parents to be grateful to the President Nana Akuffo Addo and administration for such offer.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Madam Comfort Asante, thanked the contractors for delivering the project on time. She also urged the headmaster to put the facility into good use and to also make sure this facility is properly maintained.
The Municipal Education Director expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the MP for his quest to enhance quality education in the municipality.
She also urged the stakeholders of the school to cultivate the habit of the maintenance to prolong the lifespan of the facility, whiles teachers and pupils ensure proper sanitation on its surroundings since the infrastructure has provided a suitable environment for teaching and learning.
The Headmaster expressed his profound gratitude to the Member of Parliament and the Government for this kind gesture.
