The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly held a one day capacity building training for it’s newly staffs, the purpose of the training was to promote higher professional and ethical standards in the local Government service deliver.
The Municipal Coordinating Director Mr. Alhaji Tijani asked the participants to take the studies seriously so that they can be upgraded in their service.
He encouraged them to learn from their other work colleagues in other Assemblies to equip themselves in all situations as the work is demand of them as a public worker.
The facilitator, Madam Nancy Okwan from the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council, first took the participants on the Dynamics of Human Resource Management.
Under Human Resource Planning, the staffs were taken through succession planning, forecasting, Assessing of human Resource supply and Analysis of organizational plans and objectives and other topic like compensation and salary administration. These involves the overview of labor law, 2003 (Act 651) and workman’s compensation law, 1987 (PNDCL 187).
The next presentation was on the Local Government Protocols by explaining the LOGO of the local government service what the symbols on the logo represents and therefore asked the staff to study it well so as to quote it off head when attending for the service interview for promotions, for example the local government service motto is Decentralization. Democracy. Development.
There was 39 staff who took part in the workshop.
Present were the Human Resource Officer, Madam Grace Ohene and Madam Ghartey Victoria, the Assistance Director.
