As mandated by the L.I 2232 of the National Development Planning Regulations, 2016, all MMDAs are required to conduct quarterly monitoring and Evaluation of all projects in the municipality to inspect and to identify projects achievements, constraints and failures so that improvements can be made to project designs to achieve better results and to ensure transparency, social accountability and value for money in the implementation to aid in decision making, New Juaben North Municipal Assembly conducted a monitoring and Evaluation of Projects in the Municipalities on Tuesday 3rd August 2021.
The team visited the following projects sites Construction and Drilling of four (4) Mechanized Boreholes, Seven (7) water stands/ platforms with Seven (7) 500 liters Polytanks at four communities within the municipality such as Effiduase market, Jumapo market, Suhyen Mpaem CHIPS compound and Akwadum clinic, construction of Two (2) Pipe Culvert at Asokore Kumaa, CHIPS compound at Asokore Kumaa and Oyoko, construction of One (1) and Two (2) Unit KG classroom block at Effiduase R/C at Effiduase, construction of Two (2) Unit KG classroom Block at Asokore Salvation at Asokore, construction of Ten (10) Unit Lockable stores with 300m pavement at Jumapo market ( phase 1 ) at Jumapo market ,Renovation of NHIS office at Effidusae, Effiduase Police Administration Block and all CHIPS compounds in the municipalities.
The monitoring team was led by the New Juaben North Municipal Chief Executive ,Hon Comfort Asante and other officers from the Assembly such as Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Alhaji Tijani ,Municipal planning officer, Mrs. Florence Nartey, Municipal Finance Officer ,Mr Alhasan Muntara, Municipal works Engineer, Mr Anim Botse ,Municipal Budget Analysts ,Mr Joseph Attah Baah, Municipal director for Social development, Mrs. Mahama Sally, Assistance development officer ,Agyeiwah Stella , Education directorate was represented by Mr Boateng ,Agric officer ,Mr Obed and NADMO director .
The team observed that some of the projects need more contractors at site to work because the projects have stop for a long time and therefore asked the municipal Engineer to take actions to bring the contractors at site.
The Renovation of NHIS office, the contract has being terminated and therefore the Assembly needs to get new contractor to complete the building.
Some of the boreholes were not functioning due to no credit availability on the meters so the municipal finance officer asked the officer in charge, Mr Sylvester Owusu to raise MEMO to get funds to buy credits for all the meters
At the Effiduase, municipal Police Administration block, the coordinating director Assured the police personnel that their projects would be completed very soon.
