NEW JUABEN NORTH ASSEMBLY HOLDS STAFF DURBAR

The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly has held its maiden staff durbar for the year 2021 at the Assembly hall.

The durbar was to introduce the new   staffs, discuss staff punctuality to work, finances and staff welfare among others.

The Municipal Chief Executive of the Assembly, Hon. Comfort Asante in an address welcomed everyone and said it is her privilege to have such gathering which enables Management to interact with staffs. She urged all to take part in these fruitful interactions sharing issues with regards to the Assembly.

The MCE explained that the gathering was to help management know the success and challenges of staff. Hon. Comfort Asante urged staff to be committed to their jobs and discharge their duties diligent.

The Municipal Coordinating Director touched on some key issues that have been bothering him ever since he resumed office. He lamented on how some staff consistently come to work late whiles others do not show up at all. He stressed that working time is 8am and not 9am.

He stressed the need to strengthen our welfare which is an issue for the MCE and therefore urge all staffs to bring their ideas to make it work. After the discussion on it the members voted on how much each person was to contribute but at the end they agree on 20gh for a month. The Director also said all will be treated equally weather senior or junior staff will receive the same attention.

The Assistant Finance Officer, Mr. Shadow explained to the members our income for every week was gh24000 and our expenditure for every was also amounted to gh23000, which makes the Assembly not able to pay all their MEMOs which is a very serious problem to the assembly, so they have prioritized the payment system. He also informed the staff that since January the Assembly has not received their common fund and these have make things difficult for the Assembly to operate and plead with all staffs which have outstanding transfer’s grants to be paid immediately they received the money.

The Staff had the opportunity to ask questions and made suggestions which Management addressed accordingly.
