The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly as part of measures to curb the spread of Covid-19 has donated protective pieces of equipment to Frontline workers in the Municipality.
The Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben North Hon. Comfort Asante urged people living in the district to strictly adhered to social distancing, usage of face masks and other precautionary protocols to combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Let us consider, there may be infected persons within our neighborhoods who are likely infecting others and so our daily guiding principles to protect ourselves must be paramount when having engagement with anybody”
“We must not arrogantly consider ourselves smarter but stay safe”. She added
“Everyone’s life matters, let us keep staying safe and to routinely wear facemasks as part of our clothing when stepping out of our homes”, she added.
Hon. Comfort Asante made the call when she presented Personal Protection Equipment’s (PPEs) to the District Directorate Health Service to help protect frontline workers to execute their duties.
The Municipal Health Director for New Juaben North Madam Nana Yaa Konadu, who received the items on behalf of the health Directorate, expressed appreciation to the Assembly for its continuous support and assured all that the items will judiciously be used for the purpose intended.
The items donated included, Veronica buckets, hand sanitizers, and liquid soaps, face masks, tissue papers, and COVID-19 educational materials.
The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly also donated Personal Protection Equipment’s (PPEs) to some State agencies within the Municipality. These State agencies include: Ghana Water Company Ltd, Controller Accountant General Department, Driver Vehicle and License Authority (DVLA), Department of Urban Roads, Department of Feeder Roads, Electricity Company of Ghana.
The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly also donated Personal Protection Equipment’s (PPEs) to Intravenous Infusion Ltd, Bryt FM, GBC Sunrise FM, Palaces, and Markets.
The Municipal Information Department together with National Commissions for Civic Education and the Municipal Health Directorates took the opportunity to sensitize and educate all ten Information centres in the six communities and markets within the Municipality.
The Municipal Information Officer, Miss Elizabeth Ansaah demonstrated to the people how to thoroughly wash their hands up to their wrist and also how to frequently use the alcohol-based hand sanitizer. She also urged everyone to adhere to all precautionary protocols to minimize the spread of COVID-19.
