PUBLIC REATIONS ON THE STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS IN THE NEW JUABEN NORTH MUNICIPALITY.

The State of the nation’s address is an annual address to parliament given by the President of the republic of Ghana covering economic, social and financial State of the Country according to Article 67 of the 1992 constitution of Ghana.

The SONA which is often broadcast serves as a means to inform the nation about its present economic, political and social condition.it also gives the President an opportunity to summarize his accomplishments and plans of his programme of government both for a particular year and until his term of office.

The Information Service Department undertook a survey to seek opinions of the general public in the Municipality on the State of the Nations Address. Some sections of the Public expressed their joy, enthusiasms, optimism whiles others poured out their frustrations.

The President in his address assured Ghanaians that, things may be dire today, nonetheless, the peace and security we have in our country has not happened by chance. It has taken deliberate policy and planning on the part of Government, and a lot of hard work and dedication on the part of our security services to keep our country safe and secure. We have ensured a significant expansion of the Armed Forces and all the other security agencies. Paying diligent attention to their welfare as well. The accommodation and physical environment generally of the security agencies are being improved. We have quickened the pace of the retooling and equipping of the security agencies to ensure readiness towards the emerging security threats.

NJNMA REACTIONS IN THE MUNICIPALITY

Mr. John Appiah, a mechanic at Asokore commented that the government have done well but expected that our taxes now should be reduced to lighten the heavy burdens on parents.

Madam Doris Twum, a nurse at Oyoko said that, the government should employ more nurses to occupy the various vacancies in our hospitals because most of our nurses have travel outside the country.

Mr. Eric Torka, a Farmer, at Effiduase, said the government should invest in initiatives that would generate income to the country and also venture manufacturing.

Madam Ofosuah Antwi, a native of Akwadum, said the president should reduce the numbers of ministers.

Mr. Ansah Boateng, from Suhyen said, the government policy about one district one factory is a failure.

Madam Mahama Alhassan, a market woman at Asikasu said, their wards in SHS are always complaining that they do not enjoy three square meal a day in school which is a concern to them as parents.

Mr. Emmanuel Cobbina, a lecturer at SDA College of Education at Asokore was happy for the preparations towards the general elections coming on 7th December, this year as our peace is concern in the country.

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana assured the country that the Kumasi international airport will be completed and commissioned after Nana Agyeman Prempeh I and naming recently commissioned airport at Tamale also after Yakubu Tali and therefore all citizens should have faith in God and him.
