The President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has cut sod to commence a New Ultra-modern Eastern Regional health facility in Koforidua. The Hospital is estimated at 70million Euros and is being financed by the Chartered Standard Bank in UK. The project is expected to be completed within 36 months.
The Ultra-Modern facility seeks to serve as the major health facility and referred center in the Eastern Region. The facility will also offer services such as teaching facilities, hospital information system, picture archiving and communications system, ICT scan and MRI units.
The facility will also introduce a four-storey single block compact with residential facilities. It also has open spaces to create an aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, medical staff and visitors.
The hospital will be built in two phases, 285 beds in first phase and 600 beds in the second phase.
The President ,Nana Akufo Addo said the construction of the facility is in line with the Ministry of Health medium term plan to achieve universal health care service delivery in the country.
He said the facility when completed, will offer various health services.
The project will be executed by Tyllium-ellipse ,a UK construction firm.
In attendance were the Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman Manu, the Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Dafour, Minister for Works and Housing, Samuel Atta-Kyea, the Member of Parliament for the New Juaben North Constituency, Nana Adjei Boateng and the Municipal Chief Executives for both New Juaben North and South, Hon Ike Apau Gyasi and Hon. Comfort Asante.
