The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly on Wednesday 7th July, 2021 held its special Assembly meeting at the Assembly hall to discuss the validation and approval of 2022-2025 Medium Term Development Plan by the General Assembly.
The Member of Parliament for New Juaben North Constituency, Hon. Nana Agyei Boateng thanked honorable members for the great job done as he had being informed by the MCE about the various stages that our Medium Term Development Plan have passed through.
He made a statement that as he glanced through the MTDP document and noticed that resources have been spread in our entire Municipality and there is a problem with our internal generated fund and therefore the Assembly must increase the IGF which will help increase the resources for the Assembly.
He asked all members to help create something that will attract an industrial hub facility such as, Markets, Lorry stations, Banks and others because we are competing with other Assemblies especially the New Juaben South Assembly.
He also said the Assembly should improve on accommodation (housing) for all their workers but not only the MCEs quarters because that will bring good workers.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Comfort Asante addressed the purpose of our meeting and encouraged all honorable members and other stakeholders involved to look through the document and bring out their views and also to correct any mistake they find in the document per the Medium Term Development Plan Act 936 which will project the plans for the next four years of our Assembly.
Presiding Member, Hon. Dr. Edward Asante Antwi, in his welcome address said the validation of the Medium Term Development Plan has gone through all the necessary stages.
He urged the members to scrutinized the documents well and make necessary additions and corrections which needed to be part of the document.
The presentation on the 2022-2025 Medium Term Development Plan was done by the Municipal Planning Officer, Madam Florence Nartey.
After the presentation, honorable members were divided into four groups to discuss it into more details and each group was allowed to bring their submissions to be added or to be removed.
The document was validated and approved by the general House after thorough discussions on the floor of the house.
Hon. Ishmael Affram moved the house to approve the document and to be used as a working tool within the four years ahead of us as an Assembly.
