NJNMA DESILTS FLOOD- PRONED AREAS IN THE MUNICIPALITY

The Municipal Chief Executive, Samuel Adongo, together with some Officials inspected flood-prone areas in the Municipality few weeks ago.
During the visit, it was observed that several gutters and streams were heavily choked with silt, plastic waste and other debris, obstructing the free flow of water and contributing to frequent flooding.
As a result of the inspection, immediate action was taken to address the situation.
The Assembly together with personnel from NADMO were deployed, using machines to desilt and clear the gutters, restoring the drainage system to full functionality.
Following the clearing exercise, rainfall that occurred later did not result in any flooding situation.
This intervention brought relief to residents and underscored the importance of routine maintenance and proper waste management in preventing flooding within the Municipality.
