The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur lnternational Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH have organized District Kick-off and Operational Planning workshop for selected staff of the New Juaben North Municipal Assembly and other stakeholders such as traditional Rulers representative and CHRAJ representative in the Municipality under the programme PAIReD.
The programme seeks to support the Assembly’s cost on all activities (i.e. the district will be required to cater for venue, lunch and snacks (where required) whiles PAIRed caters for all costs associated with Resource person(s) and also seek to support activities outside the District (i.e. zonal or Regional). These costs could include conference facility, accommodation for participants, transportation (per approved by GIZ Rates) and resource persons that may be required to facilitate the activity.
The facilitator of PAIReD Mr. John Dogbe said the project aims to nourish accountability, fostering data-based local planning and strengthening expenditure management.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon.Edward Asante Antwi was present at the workshop and expressed how much of a privilege he deemed it to have support coming through GIZ from Germany. He further encouraged all participants of the said workshop to take the exercise seriously and to help strengthen the bond between the assembly and the above mentioned cooperation. He said in the area of good governance, GIZ supports Ghana government and Municipalities in generating more revenue, which our Assembly is beneficiary of.
A period of questions and answers was granted, during which some participants took the opportunity to gain clarity on certain things and were given answerers accordingly.
