The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey has expressed her gratitude to the Assembly Members of the New Juaben North Municipal Assembly for having confidence in the President by endorsing his nominee for the progress of the Municipality. She urged them to work together as a team to enable them achieve all their goals.
Hon. Samuel Adongo who pulled 29 votes (100%) out of 29 Assembly members present was elected as the new Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben North Municipality. Hon. Samuel Adongo was subsequently sworn in by the Eastern Regional Minister.
In his address, The MCE expressed his gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for entrusting him with such an important position and being part of his administration to serve him at the local level, and the Assembly Members for their overwhelming votes.
‘The mandate ahead of us is clear, and we must work together to enhance the quality of life for every resident in the Municipality’, he stressed.
The Member of Parliament for New Juaben North constituency, Hon. Nana Osei Adjei promised to work collaboratively with the MCE to lobby for developmental projects for the Municipality.
Hon. Kwame Antwi Jacob who was elected as the Presiding Member had 22 (68.75%) votes out of the 30 Assembly members confirming him as the Presiding Member for the Assembly whiles his opponent pulled 8 votes with no rejected ballot. Hon. Kwame Antwi Jacob thanked the Assembly Members for voting massively for him and promised to work hard to improve the proceedings of the Assembly.
The election was smoothly conducted by the Electoral Commission led by the Municipal Electoral Officer, Madam Dorcas Akoto.
Heads of the various Departments of the Assembly, security agencies, Party members and the general public were all present to observe proceedings.
