Evaluation Conducted, Findings and Recommendations

The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly implemented programmes, projects and activities during the Second quarter aimed at achieving the goals and objectives in the 2022-2025 Medium Term Development Plan.

Evaluation was conducted to assess the effectiveness of activities carried out in the months preceding the rainy season  to reduce the risk of flooding  in the Municipality. The purpose of these activities is to enhance the resilience and readiness of the Municipality in facing potential flooding disasters. This evaluation aims to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of these activities and provide recommendations for improvement.

2. interviews with 25 community members including local leaders and residents to gather their feedbacks on the effectiveness of the preparedness measures

1. Evaluation conducted reveled that the municipal assembly decision to clean drains and river bodies before the rainy season have a positive impact on flood risk reduction within the municipality compared to last year.

2. NADMO conducted 5 community sensitizations on flood preparedness involving a total of 480 participants.

3. 80%  of the interviewed residents reported that they felt better informed about flood risk and the importance cleaning drains and river bodies.

1. Increase the coverage and frequency of drain and river cleaning, particularly in high risk-risk areas, to ensure comprehensive preparedness.
