FARMERS RECEIVED PIGLETS

New Juaben North Municipal Assembly distributed (24) twenty four piglets to six (6) selected farmers in the municipality on Tuesday, 20th September, 2022 at Effiduase.

The project which is under the Rearing for food and jobs program aimed at assisting farmers within the municipality to empower their livelihood.

The municipal chief Executive,Hon comfort Asante in her speech emphasized that the initiative which was started last year is aimed at supporting many people to enter into entreprneurship to help deal with unemployment issues in the municipality.

She urged beneficiaries to take good care of the piglets.

The municipal Agric director, Mr. William Asiedu Akrofi explained that the distribution was made possible after beneficiaries from last year presented some piglets to the Assembly for onwards distribution.

He therefore called on the general public to take advantage of the government initiative and get registered to have access to the numerous benefits of the program to improve their living standard.

Dr Juliana Kyerewaa Adu, Municipal vertinary officer, took beneficiaries through basic education on how to keep the piglets, such as feeding, health issues, and their environment where they keep the animals.

The beneficiary’s farmers expressed their gratitude to the MCE and the government for the initiative and pledged to take good care of the animals to produce more for other farmers to benefit the initiative.
