Activities that are carried out under this programme include: Court work, writing and submission of Social Enquiry Reports. The Department works with the Juvenile/Family Tribunal on cases that are brought to the Court. There were fourteen (14) sittings during the quarter under review.
Ten (10) cases were handled during family tribunal sitting. There were non maintenance cases
One (1) Social Enquiry report was conducted for the court during the sitting.

4.3 PRISON AFTERCARE
This report covers the services that were undertaken by the Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with the Ghana Prisons Service and affiliated stakeholders to offer assistance to prison inmates and handle Juvenile cases.
The objective is to provide assistance to juveniles in terms of proper rehabilitation, reformation, prison after care and to promote their social wellbeing.
A total of three hundred and four (304) inmates were assisted to have access to health care through the issuance of NHIS Cards. 135 inmates were assisted to be registered unto the schemes, 94 inmates were assisted to renew their cards and 75 cards of inmates which was misplaced were also replaced.
Koforidua Prisons is mainly a male prison and the table below depicts the nature of cases handled during the thirty quarter of 2023.
