NEW JUABEN NORTH CELEBRATES 69TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

The 69th Independence Day Anniversary was held in the New Juaben North Municipality with a Debate and Cultural display among selected Senior High Schools.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Samuel Adongo in his address explained that Government has instituted the competition to enrich the youth in our history and Culture and also instil patriotism.
He charged both Students and Teachers to consider Ghana’s welfare first before any personal agenda or interest.
The MCE mentioned several Educational and Health projects which are all under construction currently in the Municipality.
He said, though the country has made notable advancements in Education, Healthcare and infrastructure, these systems still face a lot of pressure that hinders it’s desired the progress.
Politically, he said Ghana has earned a reputation as one of the most stable democracies in Africa, however,it still faces the divisiveness of partisan politics that awry national cohesion.
” Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope, the Role of Stakeholders ” was the theme for the celebration.The symposium was keenly contested by four (4) Senior High Schools namely, Pope John Senior High, Seventh-Day Adventist Senior High, Oyoko Methodist Senior High and Ghana Senior High schools.
The symposium provided a platform for students to Reflect on Ghana’s progress, review its challenges and propose ways to reset the Nation’s Economy for a brighter future.
At the end of the symposium,Pope John Senior High School emerged winners in the 69th Independence Day quiz competition held with 50 points, Oyoko Methodist Senior High School placed first runner up with 42 points and Seventh-Day Adventist Senior High School took the third position with 39 points.
There was a cultural display including poetry recital and drum appellations to mark the day.
The Asokore Krontihene, Nana Appiah Boamah 1 commended Government for organizing this year’s Independence Day Anniversary celebration in a modest way stressing that, this will save the country a lot of money.
He urged the Government to focus on his transformative agenda which will go a long way to develop the country.
The Municipal Education Director, Mrs. Hilda Amegatcher challenged students to be self-disciplined and focused on their contributions to the development of the Nation.
She advised students to desists from activities that can jeopardise their future but rather focus on their studies.
Participating schools were awarded certificates and plaques.
