The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong has expressed his gratitude to the Assembly Members of the New Juaben North Municipal Assembly for having the confidence in the President by endorsing his nominee for the progress of the Municipality. He urged them to work together as a team to enable them achieve all their goals. He entreated them to support the upcoming Independence Day celebration which will be held in Koforidua to boost our local economy.
Hon. Dr. Edward Asante Antwi who pulled 22 votes {73%} out of 30 Assembly members present was elected as the new Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben North Municipality. Hon. Dr. Edward Asante Antwi was subsequently sworn in by the Eastern Regional Minister.
In his address, The MCE expressed his gratitude to the Assembly Members for their overwhelming votes and called for their collaborative support and suggestions for the development of the Assembly.
Hon. Ishmael Owusu Afram was elected as the Presiding Member had 23{77%} votes out of the 30 Assembly members confirming him as the Presiding Member for the Assembly whiles his opponent pulled 7 votes with no rejected ballot. Hon.Ismael Owusu Affram thanked the Assembly Members for voting massively for him and promise to work hard to improve the proceedings of the Assembly.
The election was smoothly conducted by the Electoral Commission led by the Municipal Electoral Officer, Madam Dorcas Akoto.
Heads of the various Departments of the Assembly, Health workers, Students, Party members and the general public were all present to observe proceedings.
