NEW JUABEN NORTH SUPPORTS PWDs

The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly, through its Social Welfare Department, has distributed business start-up packages and financial support to 85 persons with disabilities, PWDs in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The business start-up packages and financial support are to help improve the livelihoods of PWDs in the municipality. The gesture is in fulfillment of the government’s policy direction on the efficient utilization of the five percent disability component of the District Assemblies Common Fund, DACF referred to as the Disability Common Fund.
The packages include chest freezers, frozen chicken, bottled water and soft drinks, ice chest or cooler, corn-milling machines, electronic wheelchairs, 245 bags of charcoal and industrial sewing and knitting machines to aid their businesses according to their needs.
Those whose condition require financial assistance to go through surgeries, mental assistance, and to pay their hospital bills were also offered cash ranging from Two Thousand Five to Ten Thousand Ghanaian cedis.
