The second ordinary General Assembly meeting of the third session of New Juaben North Municipal Assembly took place at the Assembly Hall. The meeting brought together the Municipal Chief Executive, Municipal Coordinating Director, Chiefs, Presiding Member, Assembly Men and Women and Heads of Department.
In the welcome address, Hon.Presiding Member for New Juaben North Municipal Assembly, Dr.Edward Asante Antwi, congratulates all staffs and management of the Assembly for the maximum efforts put in place during the DPART Assessment and therefore urged that the same spirit of togetherness of team work should be continue.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Comfort Asante, addressed the session meeting of the Assembly on security, and said the Municipality is relatively peaceful, with the exception of alleged encroachment of New Juaben Lands by the Chief of Kukurantumi which was a great concern to the Assembly.
Hon.Comfort Asante, in her address on health said, the Assembly have plans to put up a permanent office for the Municipal Health Directorate to enable them discharge their duties effectively.
The Assembly despite its few years of existence has embarked on a massive infrastructural drive with some of our projects completed and others at different stages of completion.
She said this year, the Assembly have worked so hard to make an enviable mark of 98%, making us one of the few municipalities to meet the minimum national average of 95%, and therefore thank management and supporting staff for the hard work they exhibited during the DPAT exercise.
The MCE assured the staff of the Assembly that management have discussed with state housing company to procure a two (2) bedroom 24 unit housing facility for staff accommodation to relieve their staff from expensive house renting.
Also the local economic development, the Assembly intends to support three farmers based organizations’ in the municipality into the processing of cassava gari and cassava flour.
And this will boost the municipality economy by creating jobs and given high yield for local production for our people.
