A section of the main Koforidua-Akwadum road from Opanin Ayeh Roofing Company to Electricity Company of Ghana Regional Office in the New Juaben North Municipality is in a bad state, and requires urgent works.
The road is wide enough to contain three vehicles each in its own lane, but with its current condition, it can barely contain vehicles moving side by side.
A large region of the road cannot be plied by vehicles especially when it rains, resulting in such vehicles getting stucked.
Although the road has been bad for a long time, despite the fact that it is occasionally graded, the current condition is worse.
Before the heavy rainfall, the road had been manageable to both motorists and pedestrians, but now it is not.
There are lots of challenges caused by this bad road and one of them is the damaging of vehicles. This results in increase in the cost of maintenance of vehicles for motorists.
Plying this road regularly with your vehicle will require you to regularly visit a mechanic for repairs.
Another effect of the bad state of the road is that most commercial vehicle and taxis do not want to ply the road, and those who do charge extra than the normal fares. Again, you may have to spend more time on the road due to its bad nature.
Indeed, bad roads have significant effects on the livelihood of the citizens, therefore citizens are calling on the government to fix the road to bring relief to them.
Attached are images of the road.
