You Start (Ghana job and skills) is a programme sponsored by the World Bank in partnership with the Government of Ghana in collaboration with Ghana Enterprise Agency has held a workshop at the New Juaben North Municipal Assembly hall on Entrepreneurship.
In the first week, a total of thirty nine (39) attendants was recorded consisting of twenty six (26) females and thirteen (13) males and a member from the PWD.
The second week had a total of twenty six (26) participants with twelve females (12) and eighteen males (18). Facilitators were Dr. Mrs. Bernice Korkor Gligah and Mr. Caleb Lomo.
The project aims to provide skills, training and competitive start up grants to the youth who have the passion to start their owned businesses. This will go a long way to empower the youth for a better and brighter future.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Edward Asante Antwi was present and encourage the participants to take the exercise very serious and also urged them that the private sector is the driving force of the economy, so empowering the youth to start up their own business is a good initiative and will help boost the economy of Ghana.
At the end of the Basic Entrepreneurship Training, participants were expected to;
- Understand the basics of entrepreneurships.
- Demonstrate understanding of the skills necessary for the entrepreneurship journey.
- Recognize the existing business type and understand the advantages and disadvantages.
- Identify what it takes to start their own business.
